Internal Announcement

Introducing the Valard Safety Commitment Coin Program

08 June 2026

Dear Team,

I am pleased to announce the official launch of the Valard Safety Commitment Coin Program.

This program was established to honour individuals who take meaningful action in direct alignment with our safety mission: the elimination of life-threatening, life-altering, and life-ending events. It reflects a foundational belief that safety is not simply a priority — it is a pillar of success, demonstrated through the actions we take every single day, both on the job site and out in the communities where we live. Recipients of this coin are people who carry Valard’s core principles with them at all times — who represent and demonstrate what we stand for not only at work, but in the general public.

This is not a routine recognition. The Safety Commitment Coin is awarded directly by Valard’s senior executive leadership and represents one of the highest forms of individual recognition within our organization. To receive it, a formal case must be put forward on a person’s behalf, reviewed, and approved — because the actions this coin represents deserve that level of deliberation and respect.

All program materials, including the nomination process and recognition criteria, have been posted on the Safety page of the Employee Microsite Safety – Valard Employees Microsite. Please refer to the site for full details.

I ask that all leaders cascade this information to their teams and field crews without delay, and ensure the two-pager is printed and posted on site boards and in common areas for maximum visibility. All nominations will be reviewed and voted on at the Valard Monthly Operational Safety Meeting. Approved recipients will receive a Valard Safety Commitment Coin, belt buckle, and recognition card — presented in person whenever possible.

The strength of this program lies with each of you. It is built on our collective commitment to recognizing the individuals who step up, take action, and make a difference when it matters most.

Thank you for your continued dedication to keeping our people safe and for looking out for one another every day.

Sincerely,

Dave Robb,

Chief Operating Officer
